A New School Year: Embracing Growth and Celebrating our Community
Dear ISSH Community,
As we embark on the new school year at the International School of Schaffhausen, our dedication to fostering an environment where each student can excel—academically, socially, and emotionally—remains as strong as ever. Guided by our core values, we continue to cultivate a community of learners who are equipped to become global citizens, prepared to make meaningful contributions to society.
This year is particularly special as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the International School of Schaffhausen. To mark this milestone, we are hosting a celebration on Saturday, August 31st, starting at 10:00 with our Summer Fair. This event will bring together both our school and the local community, providing an opportunity to reflect on our achievements and look forward to the future with enthusiasm and optimism. We hope you will join us in commemorating this occasion!
As we reflect on our past, it is also important to celebrate the present—especially the remarkable accomplishments of our students. Our students continue to excel both inside and outside the classroom. We are thrilled to highlight the recent accomplishment of one of our students who represented ISSH at the Chemistry Olympiad, demonstrating his remarkable knowledge and passion for science on an international stage. Such achievements fill us with pride as we witness our students making significant strides in various fields.
We are also proud to celebrate the success of our recent IB graduates. This year, we achieved a 100% pass rate in the IBDP exams, extending our impressive 10-year streak of perfect pass rates. With an average score of 34.4—significantly above the global average of 30.32 – and a highest score of 43 out of 45, our students have exemplified not only academic excellence but also incredible perseverance and resilience.
As we continue to support our students’ academic journeys, we have also been working behind the scenes to enhance our school facilities. Over the summer, we’ve put a lot of care into enhancing our school facilities to better serve our students. The refurbishment of the nursery and kindergarten is progressing, though it is slightly behind schedule and is expected to be completed by mid-September. We truly appreciate your understanding during this time. We are also happy to share that the gym floor has been completely renewed and is now ready for our students to enjoy.
Looking ahead, we remain committed to offering a rich educational experience that not only meets rigorous academic standards but also supports the personal growth and well-being of every student. Our diverse and international community continues to be a source of strength and inspiration, and together we will build on this solid foundation.
Thank you for being an essential part of our school community. Let’s make this a year filled with growth, learning, and shared success!
