Phoebe what’s your favourite thing to do in the Summer?

“Swimming!”

Do you have a favourite pool?

“Yes it’s the Beringen one because it’s got lots of grass so I can play and swim. I also like the one with the swirly whirly slide in Neuhausen.”

And what do you like to do in the winter?

“Sledging.”

We recently discovered a great place for sledging near Schaffhausen – in Siblingen. It is just ten minutes from our home in Beringen and it’s like driving into our own winter wonderland. 

So tell us about the place in Schaffhausen you like the most.

“I love the kids gymnastics place. There’s so much cool stuff to do here like jumping and climbing”.

The kids gymnastics takes place on some afternoons in the Kunstturnhalle (artistic gymnastics sports hall) Dreispitz in Herblingen.
 
You also like playing outside. Would you tell us about your favourite playground?

“I like the one where Rapunzel lives.”

That’s the Munot playground above the old town of Schaffhausen. Not only is there a great playground with things to slide, swing and climb but there’s also an old tractor and a little wooden house to encourage the children to imagine. There’s also a big sandpit with a water pump and the running track which is also great for scooters and bikes.

This is all beautifully situated next to the Munot which Phoebe believes is where Rapunzel lives! I love that we live somewhere so beautiful that in the eyes of my 5 year old it’s a fairytale land! 

When asked what she would change to make Schaffhausen even better she said “nothing”.

Phoebe is 5 years old. She is in the Marmot group (Kindergarten 1) at the ISSH and lives with her family in Beringen.
