Media Centre

Digital and analogue work equipment are part of everyday school life

The IB Middle Years Programme is an inquiry based curriculum which challenges the students to prepare research questions, define hypothesis and investigate using various primary and secondary sources. The Library and Media Centre is of central importance in this respect and accommodates the students in their various independent studies.

Upon entry, each student receives there personal Laptop (ChromeBook).  

Non-fiction – research sources

ISSH has a collection of primary sources for the Middle Years and Diploma Programmes. Non-fiction books in all major subjects and a selection of recognised magazines are available to the secondary students.

Fiction in 3 languages

Even in the virtual era, books are cherished by many as sources of knowledge and inspiration. Most ISSH students and staff members love to dig into a good book. A broad selection of top titles in world literature are available in the 3 languages ​​at ISSH (English, French and German)

Destiny-System

Destiny is the name of library software, used by many international schools. Through keywords that included in the system, the students not only get access to the books available in the library and their contents. The system also contains links to many online sources and encyclopaedias, which can also be accessed via the link on the ISSH library website.

Managebac

We use the ManageBac System to communicate with students and parents on homework, absences, assessments, deadlines and behaviour matters. All reports about academic progress a generated on ManageBac four times a year and are issued to parents and students electronically.

Study Area

Students at ISSH are encouraged to find their personal routines for successful learning. Many students will benefit from the inspiring environment a media centre can offer. Individual study tables and a reading corner are available to students to study, read a novel or nurture their passion for knowledge.
