Admission Policy

The Diploma Programme is a logical step for students who want to continue their education after completing the IB Middle Years Programme. However, the Diploma Programme is open to all students who have completed their education up to and including grade 10 level (age 15-16), regardless of the curriculum they have followed. ISSH accepts students who have, for example, completed the British year 11, two years at a Swiss Fachmittelschule (FMS) or a 10th year of school in a Swiss school, an American Highschool grade 10 or the German Mittlere Reife.

All students interested in the Diploma Programme are required to take entrance tests to assess their skills in English and Mathematics. Depending on the outcome of the tests, applicants who do not yet have the proficiency in English to embark on the Diploma courses, will need to enroll for an intensive summer language course in English or be offered a place in MY Grade 10, in order to acquire the language skills required to attend the diploma programme.

More information about ISSH’s admission policy and entrance requirements can be found here:  Junior College Admission Policy.

Scholarships are available to talented students who can make a positive contribution to the ISSH community. For more information please follow this link:  ISSH Scholarship

As all IB World Schools follow the same curriculum and have the same final examination, it is possible for students to move from one IB school to another, ensuring continuity of their education in terms of content, teaching methods and assessment.
